141 SW for Deep Impact

The late Deep Impact (Sunday Silence) sired his 44th Group One winner and 141st overall stakes yesterday when World Premiere (3 c ex Mandela by Acatenango) lead home a quinella for the stallion in the Kikuka Sho (Japanese St Leger) (Gr 1, 3000m) at Kyoto. The three-year-old colt prevailed in a close finish to beat Satono Lux (Deep Impact) by a neck with another length back to Velox (Just A Way) in third.
