Habana (2 f ex Hargeisa by Speightstown) brought up a half-century of individual stakes winners for Juddmonte stallion Kingman (Invincible Spirit) when coming home a ready winner of the Zukunfts-Rennen (Gr 3, 1400m) at Baden-Baden yesterday.
Trained by Andreas Wohler, the two-year-old filly ran on strongly down the centre of the track to beat See Paris by two lengths with a further one and a half lengths back to Ghrainne in third. A 140,000gns purchase at Book 1 of last year's Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Habana is the second foal out of the Group 3-winning Speightstown (Gone West) mare Hargeisa. Kingman stood the 2022 northern hemisphere breeding season at Banstead Manor Stud for £150,000 (approx. NZ$290,000).
