A perfect start!

Novara Park Stud manager Ray Knight has welcomed the birth of the first foal by Jakkalberry out of Heart Of Darkness and if his first foal is anything to go by, breeders are going to be taking a much closer look at one of the best credentialed young stallions in his service fee bracket.

The attractive colt was foaled in Australia at Sledmere Stud, situated at Scone in the Hunter Valley.

Sledmere Stud describes the colt as being ‘correct, well put together and having a deep girth’, which has delighted the team behind Novara Park and the Jakkalberry Breeding Syndicate.

Heart Of Darkness (Falkirk-Heartache) a winner of four races is a half-sister to Sworn To Secrecy a winner of the Group Two Emancipation Stakes, seven time winner and stakes placed One Nite Stand, four time winner and multiple stakes placed Bear Heart- Kick Serve (HK), and a half- sister to Accidentallyinlove the dam of seven time winner Guns At Five a winner of the listed New Zealand St Leger and Fantastic Honour second in both the Group Three Eclipse Stakes and the Karaka Million. Second dam the Chayleyer was an outstanding mare winning the Group Two AJC St Leger and Group Three Adrian Knox as well as being multiple Group One placed in the Sydney Cup, VRC Oaks, and Canterbury Guineas.

“We’re delighted with the foal, he’s full of quality and athletic, and offers early evidence that Jakkalberry is going to be a great opportunity to breeders and the New Zealand stallion ranks” said Novara Park manager Ray Knight.
