Group Three performance by Jakkalberry son

A day after it lost it foundation stallion Jakkalberry, the Novara Park stallion showed what a huge loss he will be for the New Zealand thoroughbred breeding industry.
Jakkalberry's son Thomas Aquinas stepped up when coming from the rear of the field to place 2nd in the 1200m Matamata Slipper for two year olds.

A Group performance from only his second runner is massive for any stallion and more so for Jakkalberry especially considering they are expected to be more suited to the 2400m of a Derby or Oaks as three year olds.
