Jakkalberry relatives run continues

Jakkalberry relatives run continues

Jakkalberry’s close relative Kaspersky cruised to an easy win when taking out the Group Carlo Vittadini for a second year in succession at Milan San Siro racecourse on Sunday 29 May.

The race lifted Kaspersky to win number eleven from fifteen starts. These include six Group and listed races. Kaspersky pedigree makes interesting reading as both sire and dam are related to Jakkalberry. His sire the successful stallion Footstepsinthesand shares the same fourth dam as Jakkalberry being Crenelle (by Crepello) with this broodmare being full sister to successful New Zealand sire Crest Of The Wave.Kaspersky’s dam Croanda shares the same second dam as Jakkalberry being multiple stakes winner and Oaks D’Italia placgetter Crodas (by Shirley Heights).

Also at Milan San Siro racecourse Jakkalberry’s close relation Circus Couture put in another outstanding effort for a second in the €192,000 Gran Premio Di Milano. The Group Two event was taken out by Marco Botti trained Dylan Mouth who now moves to twelve wins from his fifteen starts including three at Group One level. Circus Couture is out of Jakkalberry’s half-sister Bois Joli who has already produced another Group One performer in Celticus, a winner of eight races including Listed level.

Qatar Racing-owned Pallasator comfortably won Henry II Stakes, a Group 3 for stayers, on Thursday 26 May at Sandown. Ridden by Oisin Murphy, Pallasator waited for a while behind Max Dynamite before coming up with a really good acceleration in the last 200 metres, imposing himself by more than two lengths. It was Max Dynamite’s first start back since he came second in the 2015 Melbourne Cup
This was his second Group success as he had already won the Doncaster Cup, a Group 2, in 2015. Pallasator should now go towards the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, the biggest race for stayers in Great-Britain.
“The plan was to sit last as he’s not a slow stayer and he quickened up well,” explained Pallasator’s trainer, Sir Mark Prescott. Jakkalberry and Pallosator’s third dams are half-sisters.
