Pierro (by Lonhro) sired his fourth Group 1 winner courtesy of Pierata’s (4 h ex November Flight by Flying Spur) victory in the All Aged Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) at Randwick on Saturday. Pierro’s other Group 1 scorers are Pinot, Levendi and Arcadia Queen, and he will stand at Coolmore for a fee of $88,000 (inc GST) this season.
The ever-popular Darley stallion Lonhro (by Octagonal) sired his 83rd stakes winner after the James Cummings-trained Plague Stone (3 g ex Giggleswick by Elusive Quality) won the Mick Dittman Plate (Listed, 1110m) at Doomben on Saturday. Lonhro will stand at Darley’s Kelvinside base in New South Wales this year for $77,000 (inc GST).
Novara Park's Sweynesse is the only son of Lonhro at stud in New Zealand.
