On Sunday Deep Impact sired the trifecta in the NZ$740,000 Listed Rokko Stakes after siring the trifecta in the NZ$1.1m Mainishi Hai on Saturday.
Deep Impact sired his 156th individual stakes winner when Ulili (ex Wiki Wiki by French Deputy) took out the NZ$740,000 Listed Rokko Stakes (1600m) to beat Satono Arthur (ex King’s Rose by Redoubte’s Choice) by a head with Entscheiden (ex Le Sucre by Sakura Bakushin O) in third a further three lengths away.
Ulili is bred on the same cross as Novara Park’s Staphanos. Both are by Deep Impact with Ulili’s dam being by French Deputy and the dam of Staphanos being by a son of French Deputy in World Champion Miler Kurofune.
Only the very best mares in Japan are given the opportunity to bred to super sire Deep Impact. An example is the dam of second placed Satono Arthur being the former NZ Bloodstock Filly of the Year King’s Rose.
